Chiropractor in Monrovia : Dr David M. Salse, D.C.

Providing the San Gabriel Valley with inspiration and a fresh approach to chiropractic care

                     David M. Salse, DC
Dr. Salse (chiropractor) grew up where everyone he knew would take a pill for whatever pain or ailment they had.  A generation away from crop pickers, his family had no knowledge of alternative healthcare or proper nutrition.   Ding Dongs, Lucky Charms, Swanson's TV dinners, and lots of candy were common in his family.  It wasn't until he was enrolled in chiropractic school did he learn about proper nutrition and all of the amazing benefits his future profession had to offer.  He began to exercise, eat right and get regular adjustments.  Some of the most profound lessons he learned in school were, "Healthy people don't get sick" and "The power that made the body, heals the body" as well as our bodies heal from "Above down, inside out."  Although most people seeking chiropractic care for the first time are generally seeking pain relief, Dr. Salse and his staff educate their patients.  He wants them to understand that true healing comes from within and that by removing nerve interference, the body can many times heal itself.
"Our purpose is to help as many people as possible get well and stay well through natural chiropractic care.  That my mission,” Dr Salse says.

“A referral based practice?”

The other day, I asked a new patient, "How did you find me."  She smiled, opened her purse and pulled out a tattered, dog-eared business card of mine that was barely readable.  She said, "A friend of mine gave this to me five years ago and told me if I ever needed help to come here."  Most people I see as patients have not been able to find the solutions they seek from their doctors and are referred to me by their friends and family.  In fact, that is the secret to our success here in Monrovia.  Without satisfied patients telling others, we would no longer be in business.  A sign of a good chiropractor is the number of referrals he or she receives.  To read what people are saying about our office from around the web, visit "Real Chiropractor - Real Reviews"“ .  Here at Salse Chiropractic Center we take care of our patients as if they are my own family.  We go out of our way to make sure they receive the absolute best chiropractic care available in the San Gabriel Valley and in fact, Southern California.  Our efforts have paid off.  Visit RateMDs.comand you will see that they have rated our office number one for chiropractic care in the San Gabriel Valley.
People often ask me what I love about my work. The answer is that its not work at all.  Coming to the office each day is something I look forward to.  My patients to me are somewhat of an extended family and I enjoy not only helping them get healthy but to get to know them as a person and not just a patient.  Our office is much different than a medical doctors office.  Here you see smiling faces and a helpful staff.  We have great patients and a great atmosphere.  Some patients call it their "home away from home."  In fact some of our wellness patients have been coming to see me since 1993!

It's not a job; it’s what I do and who I am...

As a young man, I was a victim of a rear end auto accident in which the other driver fled the scene.  I know what it feels like to have whiplash.  At first I took medication, but it would only take the pain away for a short period of time.  Then a friend of mine recommend I see a chiropractor.  I was extremely skeptical and a bit frightened.  I thought the pain would go away and that I could "tough it out" 'cause I was a guy and that's what us guys do, but the pain was too much of a motivating factor.  With that first adjustment, my life changed forever.  When Dr. Sharpe adjusted me, I immediately felt my bones go back into alignment.  The pinching feeling was gone and I felt so much better.  As a pre-med student at Cal Poly, I had my heart set on medical school.  But that experience inspired me to enroll in chiropractic college.  Since then, I have had the privilege of helping over 20,000 people live better, healthier lives through chiropractic care.  Some of them you may know of.  I have helped professional athletes, actors, singers, business owners, elected officials, teachers, other doctors and many more.  My youngest patient has been one day old and my oldest patient has been one-hundred years old.  I have been truly blessed to be able to help so many.

Chiropractic allows me to function at my best

I have found that chiropractic care is more than just getting adjusted, it's a lifestyle.  At first I was resistant to change as old habits are hard to break.  I found I was addicted to sugar and that took a while to get under control.  The chiropractic lifestyle is very similar to how our ancestors lived.  Exercise, healthy food, clean living and avoiding harmful medication whenever possible.  I have seen my own body improve so much with chiropractic. As I experienced these powerful personal changes I knew that I wanted to be a chiropractor and help others to experience these changes for themselves.

A unique approach to care

The common meeting ground between the chiropractor and a new patient is pain.  They come with pain, find resolution to their symptoms and often understand that they can live in a place that is not just pain free, but a place where their body thrives and radiates with life. Let us help you to experience life in this place.  For some, the change is instantaneous, for others it takes time for the body to recover, renew and regenerate.  Like peeling the layers of an onion and sometimes with baby steps we move forward toward optimal health.
I tell all my patients, "I can't do this alone." The key to recovery and lasting change is TEAMWORK!  As our profession continually grows and changes we are beginning to see that those who participate in their care achieve a new level of results that we couldn’t have dreamed of before; they are literally redefining their world as we redefine the response their body has to the new world they live in. They are an integral part of their recovery and journey to better health.

Passion to help others reach their innate potential

David and his children: Jonathan, Jenelle, Jeannine, James and David Jr.

As a father, I am fortunate to be able to share the chiropractic lifestyle with my children.  Now that they are getting older I see them making their own healthy choices with diet and nutrition.  Since I've been practicing for so long, I now see generations of the same family come in to see me.  Just last week, one of my patients brought her grandma in for care.  What was nice to see, was her other grandmother and her mom were patients as well.

Perhaps you or someone you know has been suffering in pain.  Your tired of the pills, shots, tests and procedures and are wondering if there is any hope.  I invite you to discover chiropractic today.  This type of care may not be right for you...but isn't worth a chance to find out?
